Apple finally publishes macOS Big Sur Sketch library for designers and developers

Nearly two months after macOS Big Sur’s public release, the Apple human interface team has finally released an updated Sketch library optimized for its top to bottom redesign. User interface designers and developers have been anxiously awaiting this new design kit for quite awhile.

[Update: Optimized charging on M1 MacBooks] Apple should offer users more control over battery health features

Apple introduced a new software feature with iOS 13 that helps prolong the life of your iPhone’s battery called “Optimized Battery Charging.” I’d love to see Apple not only expand it to iPad and Mac but also take a page out of Tesla’s book (and Dell, Samsung, others) and adopt a feature from its charging strategy.
Update 1/22/21: After two months, my 13-inch M1 MacBook Pro has learned my charging schedule and is limiting charging to 80% with Optimized Battery Charging.

Apple issues third macOS Big Sur 11.2 RC to developers and public beta testers

Apple on Thursday released a third release candidate version of its upcoming macOS Big Sur 11.2 update to developers and member of the public beta program.The latest RC arrives just three days after a second version was issued on Monday and six days following an initial RC build last week.Developers can download the most recent Big Sur release from Apple’s Developer Center or as an over-the-air update.
